US Senate

The United States Senate is the upper house of the bicameral United States Congress, the lower house being the House of Representatives. The composition and powers of the Senate and the House are established in Article One of the U.S. Constitution (which does not use the terms "upper" and "lower"). Each U.S state is represented by two senators, regardless of population. Senators serve staggered six-year terms. The chamber of the United States Senate is located in the north wing of the Capitol, in Washington, D.C., the national capital. The House of Representatives convenes in the south wing of the same building. The Senate has several exclusive powers not granted to the House, including consenting to treaties as a precondition to their ratification and consenting or confirmation of appointments of Cabinet secretaries, federal judges, other federal executive officials, military officers and other federal uniformed officers, as well as the impeachment trials of federal officials. The Senate is a more deliberative body than the House of Representatives because the Senate is smaller and its members serve longer terms, allowing for a more collegial and less partisan atmosphere that is somewhat more insulated from public opinion than the House. The Senate is considered a more prestigious body than the House of Representatives because of its longer terms, smaller membership, and larger constituencies.

Obama appoints 15 New Political Hacks Using His Recess Appointment Authority

Bring back the good old days. Clinton was morally bankrupt but at least he wasn't evil.

Republicans, Democrats are NOT your friends

Republicans, do not negotiate or compromise in any way with Democrats (Socialists) or I promise you, your base will not elect you. Try winning an election with just independents. So what if you are the Party of NO, someone needs to say it.

Lets practice:
Cap and Trade: No!
Amnesty for Illegal Immigrants: No!
Trading GITMO for no trial in NY: No!
More spending: No!
Tax increases: No!
Obama's budget: Hell no! Shut down the government if you have to!
Obamas judges: No! Don't approve anyone!

Jim Bunning Tries to Make Obama an Honest Man

Barack Obama takes credit for the PayGo bill then watches as Jim Bunning tries to hold the Senate to it.

Bunning points out that the bill could pass if Reid wanted. It is Reid that is holding the unemployed hostage. Meanwhile the chicken Republican leadership as usual doesn't lead and leaves Jim Bunning to go it alone while pressuring him to cave. Vote in the Primary Elections and make every incumbent a lame duck. Don't take this crap anymore!

Obama on Healthcare: A Majority Vote Makes Sense

Barack Obama defends the idea of pushing health care overhaul legislation through Congress with no Republican votes.

In 2005 he was against bypassing the 60 votes needed for cloture, but of course he was part of the evil "party of no" then.

Obama & Dems in ‘05 on "Nuclear Option"

In 2005 the Democrats said that the 51 Vote ‘Nuclear Option’ Is ‘Arrogant’ Power Grab Against the Founders’ Intent.

Now that they are in power they believe differently.
